Course Description:
This course is designed to help home inspectors become Licensed Structural Pest Inspectors and covers all licensing requirements. This course will cover material required to pass the Washington Department of Agriculture SPI structural pest inspector exam. This course will use SGA Inspection Inc.’s Structural Pest Inspector Training Manual to provide the contents for the course.

Course Description:
In this class, we will discuss surface water control and moisture intrusion. We will look at:
- -lot grading and its importance to the home
- -gutters and downspouts for rainwater collection and distribution
- -window wells
- -walks, driveways, and grounds as they pertain to the house
- -retaining walls
You will learn:
- -how to assess the grading of the land around a house, and how to recognize the effects of poor grading
- -how to identify what gutters and downspouts are made of, and assess their condition
- -about how window wells are built, what common problems can be found with them, and the implications of the problems
- -how to inspect walks, driveways and grounds for their condition and usability to the occupant
- -about how retaining walls are built and how they fail
